Wow the Week is going fast

So far so good this week . I can't believe it is Thursday already. The kids are at home this afternoon due to an early dismissal. I am working from home today. I am actually waiting for a file to download while I am typing this, so technically I am working. Needed to take a break from the Bill 198 Stuff. Thanks Enron.
We have our last hockey party this week coming up. It is for the little guys and girls that I coached this year. They were a great group of kids. We are going back up North next weekend with some friends for dinner. Thats pretty cool considering we have not seen these people in about two years. They have kids that are a little older then ours. One of my friends is a bit of a fishing buff so he will enjoy the fishing up there. There is a beautiful gazeebo on the water so it will be nice if the weather co-operates. We might be able to sit around a camp fire with marshmallow smores and baileys. Double yum.
On a sadder note one of my co-workers and friends at work lost her husband this week . He was forty nine and passed away from complications due to cancer. So young and I feel so bad for her and the kids. She is a strong person and I know she will hit the ground running, but still very sad days for her now and ahead.
I have been binge eating again. I have to stop. I lost near fifty pound last year, but unfortunately I have gained about twenty back. Time to get back on track. I accomplished the weight lost by tracking what I eat duing the day and trying to keep under 2000 Calories a day. Also watching the fat intake and trying to keep it under 65grams a day. Between April 1st and July 1st last year I lost most of my weight. Like I said it it time to get back on track.
My file is downloaded now so its back to work. Blab at the Blog later. By the way I give these days a ~ out of ten toenails, mostly due to my friends lost. Remember life is short, live and love each day. As Captain Picard once said, I fear more days have passed then are ahead of me. So true when you are over forty.

Weekend Away

Well the weekend started off great with our party for the Novice kids who I coached. It was pretty cool as the parents took care of all the arrangements. I just had to show up and present the trophies. Not a bad gig. Great bunch of kids. Anyway we headed up north on Friday night as planned. The weather was awfully crappy and the drive was messy but traffic was moving. We got up there just before midnight. It is a pretty cool place located just outside of Washago. The kids had a blast with our the neighbors next store.
On Saturday morning Sam's sisters and her mom started rolling in at about 10:00am. They wanted to have a pre meeting about the lake front property that Sam's fathers family is selling. Sam's mom unforutnately has Alzheimer's. Granted it is in the earlier stages but she can no longer make decisions for herself, hence the family has to help out. The pre-meeting went very well and the family drafted a note about the conditions of the sale. In the afternoon we met with the rest of the families and discussed the sale. Most of it went pretty well from what I here
They returned home on Saturday night. I cooked one of my personal favorites, pork chops and baked potatoes, with a touch of caesar salad and cord. Yum. I love food. Sam and I decided to spend another night up there and came home on Sunday.
Sam starts her new job today. She was really nervous last night and had a hard time getting to sleep. I tossed and turned a bit a well but feel asleep around midnight, only to be awoken by a cat who had obviously been alone too much this weekend. She was trying to get the dog to play but he was giving her the "go lick yourself" look as he was completely exhausted from the weekend.
Enough ramblings. Gotta run and work for a living. Weekend was a ~~~~~~~ out of ten. Good rest but crappy weather. TAC

OK-So I Had a Bad Week

I guess my last post was a little strong and filled with a little vengence. It was a frustrating process having money stolen. Word to the wise; Protect your bank cards and pin numbers. Despite being somewhat protective my card was still hijacked. Maybe I will have to arm myself with a world domination ray gun or something.
On to new things. We went to the Beverly Golf and country club last evening for a banquet honouring our year in hockey with the Grand Valley Hockey league. The place was built just last year and it looks beautiful. It is a private club though and in less I win a lottery we likely won't be members there anytime soon. Beautiful place.
As I mentioned we are headed north this weekend. I am looking forward to getting away. It will be our puppy's first big car ride so we will see how he makes out. But first we have a novice hockey party to go to. It was team myself and a neighbor coached last year. We had a great time and the kids had a pretty good blast as well. It's funny how we ended up exactly at .500 for the year in both the playoffs and regular season.
Well my beloved maple leafs made some changes yesterday. Patt Quinn, their head coach, was fired or as his boss said "relieved of his duties". Sounds so much better then fired doesn't it. In this world of political correctness we view the word fired as some sort of "bad" word. Where I work is the same. We use the phrase "we no longer require your services". My interpitation is get the hell out we have chewed you up and got all the useful stuff out of you we need. Back to Pat Quinn though I am sure he will end up with Vancouver next year and probably win the cup. That is the fate of players and coaches that leave or get fired from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Anyway I should run.
It's been a ~~~~~~~~ out of ten toenails type day.

Scum Sucking Thieves who rob from the poor

Well it has been a couple of days now since I posted. Been an interesting couple of days. I spent a lot of time at the bank the last couple of days straigntening out our account. Turns out somebody hi-jacked my bank card and stole money out of our account. There is lovely people in this world and then there are the assholes that make a living off doing this. These people I have abolutely no respect for. I suspect it happened at a gas station as I generally restrict the use of my bank card to groceries and bank themselves. The rare time I actually used it for gas the attendant told me he had trouble swiping the card. It seems obvious to me that this is where it happened. Of course I have no proof.

Anyway, on to happier things. Its Wednesday of an already shortened week. It seems like this week is disappearing before my eyes. We are headed north this weekend for the first time in a long time. Should be an interesting weekend though as we are discussing the sale of family property. I think I'd rather jump off a cliff then talk about family owned land. If any one out there owns lands together with family and makes it work then I salute you. My wife's side of the family struggles with it and there is no chance it will ever work. Up for sale it goes.

Said my piece and its time to go. Zero out of ten toeneails for pieces of crap that hijacked my account. May your eventual death be an infected toenail that ends up spreading to your brain. The pain will be so intense that you will wish you could die and that will be truly the most honest thought you ever had. Scumbuckets the lot of you.

For all the lovely people out there keep treating others as you would have them treat you. The world will be a better place. PLH (peace, love, happiness)

Super Long Weekend

Yes I am off tomorrow, but its not because I have a government job or teach school. I actually took the day off to make a super long weekend. Next weekend we are heading to our shared accommodations near Gravenhurst, while actually closer to washes for those of you that know the area.

We are going up there for a meeting. They want to sell off another shared property. It's a beautiful piece of property located on Sparrow lake. Most families would want to keep a piece of property this gorgeous , however my wife's family on her fathers side couldn't agree on the color of the sky on any given day. Needless to say the management of this property is not within their grasp. If I had an extra 1/2 million it would be mine, but financially were not any where close to being in a position of purchasing such a property. It will be a steal for somebody.

We just had a wonderful Easter dinner. Just the family with no guests this year. We had my side of the family's dinner last night. Good weekend of food. Must lose weight again though. I had lost fifty pounds last year and I think I am well on my way to gaining 20 of it back. Will start again this week for sure watching what I eat and writing it down. My goal is to 200lbs by the summer. We shall see.

On a sad note my mighty Toronto Maple Leafs lost last night. They still had a very slim chance for post season until last night anyway. It is disappointing as I was hoping for a playoff run :<. They had a really good run to end the season though. A few more breaks going their way and they might have been there this year. Anyway I still have not decided which team I will back for the rest of this year. I hate Ottawa and never been a big Montreal Fan. Calgary might be cool. I always tend to cheer for the underdog.

Gotta run. This weekend rates a ~~~~~~~~~ out of ten toenails. Awesome and fun all at the same time.

Good Friday has come and gone. Pretty rainy and crappy here in Rockton, Ontario. Good day though. Didn't do too much today other then get our 2004 taxes done. Yes I am a year behind as I always am, but their done now. My mother-in-law was over for dinner tonight. We had killer spaghetti sauce that I made earlier today. I like to cook, especially in the kitchen.
We are headed off to my brother's place tomorrow for my family's Easter dinner. Should be a blast. My brother and his wife just lost their dog of 15 years. I know how bad that feels. We lost our sheltie two years ago and our golder retriever got done in by a truck on the highway this year. Hence why we now have a puppy. The kids were devastated.
Anyway I promised the cat, Mystery, who was feeling pretty left out after I posted the anonymous dog and the sheltie, that I would post a picture of her. This cat is pretty cool but not the most graceful cat you will ever run into. She has taken some pretty good spills over her lifetime. That is my little girl with her. Another princess. As a father I could not be more proud of her, as a matter of fact all my kids. Without getting all holy, I do have an awful lot to be thankful for this Easter. There are a lot of people who are going through some pretty bad stuff. A colleague of mine at work is watching her husband fight off some nasty cancer, while another one is going through a pretty intense separation from his wife. So as poor financially as we are, if that's our biggest problem and it appears to be, then were in pretty good shape.
OK I promise in my next entry not to babble on so much about the Pets. As far as my rating goes for today, I have to think it was a ~~~~~~~~~~ Toenail type of day. I will babble at you later, until then enjoy yourself.

Have a Happy Easter everyone, and don't eat too much!
Oh and if you dont celebrate Easter, just have a nice weekend

Oh Boy-Long Weekend ahead

Long Weekend Ahead-Happy Easter, Passover, Pesach or whatever else you want to call it.
By the way please refrain from any political or religous discussions on this blog. I will not read them but will remove them. Thanx

Well its Thursday afternoon and we are headed for a long weekend today. I got to thinking last night and I wondered how I could post a picture of an anonymous dog before I post one of The Sheltie. Yes this our dog named Zeus. He is about four months old now. He is house broken but still has his puppy teeth, which pretty much means everything is fair game for chewin. Other then that he is a really good puppy. This will be the second Sheltie we have owned. The first one named Bret lived to be the ripe old age of 15. Pretty old for a Sheltie. I had him even before I met my wife. Anyone back to this moment, Sheltie Zeus is doing fine, growing like a weed much to my wife's dismay. She was kinda hoping for a regular sized Sheltie. She should know better as everything we do turns "big". I should mention we have a cat as well however it is a mystery how we got one. We think someone tossed a bag of kittens while driving by on the highway. We managed to capture her and take care of her. Her brother, was taken by another neighbor but ran away. Anyway she is a black cat and the kids called her, big surprise, Mystery. She is about a year old and gives Zeus a good run for his money.

Thanks Enron

I spent another day at work in meetings about this Bill 198 crap. Thanks to companies like Enron we all have to pay. I guarentee this is not part of the job I will remember on my death bed. Pretty good day other wise. Easter nears and the weekend is looking pretty cool

Just got a call from my wife. She is running late. So more time to Blog. Hockey is over. Thank god. Love the game but I hate the bullshit politics that come with it. Problably should not have volunteered for two more years. The dog here looks thrilled that is owners decided to dress it up as a bunny.

Speaking of dogs our new puppy is hilarious. We got him a few weeks ago. He is a sheltie, normally a small dog, but this one is growing like a weed. He looks like he is going to be a big one. I had him chasing my hat last night. I would flick it around and he would chase it. I would through it back on my head and he would spend five minutes looking for it. I am sure he will get smarter as he gets older. I hope.

Gotta fly. In keeping with my blogs theme I am going to rate days according the the "Terry Corbett Toe Nail Scales. 10 toenails being the best, 1 the worst. Today rated as a six ~~~~~~ day. Talk @ U later. :)
Well it looks like my wife has got me hooked on the blogging scene. You may be wondering about the name of this blog. Some people consider blogs to be a waste of time as thousands of people entering their random thoughts and ramblings on.I like to think of it as therapy.
Toenails grow, they need to be cut. The clippings that are part of you, fall to waste. Day to day life expereinces are sometimes like that. If you don't write them down, they become useless pieces that were once part of you and will soon be forgotton. By capturing these day to day experiences, they live on, at least until you lop them off.
